There’s a lot of new historical fiction out there. Let us tell you about the five best new historical fiction titles this October!

Growing up in Minnesota, I was surprised that it wasn’t until I was in graduate school in Mankato that I first learned of the U.S. - Dakota War of 1862. Although I’ve learned much about it since then, I’ve discovered that there are still many Americans who know little or nothing about the events of this tragic conflict.

After earning my Master of Arts degree in history, I never imagined I’d be writing fiction, let alone alternate history. Check out this blog post to find out why I decided to write an alternate history novel and all of the steps that got me there.
