HISTORY THROUGH FICTION ADDS TO ITS LINEUP OF AUTHORS

History Through Fiction, an independent press located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is proud to announce the signing of author F.M. Deemyad.

Born in Kermanshah, Iran, and having grown up in Tehran, author F.M. Deemyad attended bilingual schools run by Christian and Jewish minorities. This early exposure to different cultures and religions is reflected in her works and has enriched her writing. As the granddaughter of a linguist who taught English Literature in India for several years, Deemyad was exposed to the English language at a young age and she developed a love of classic literature. After coming to the U.S., she earned a BA in Biophysics from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from John Hopkins University. She currently lives with her husband in Potomac, MD, just outside of Washington D.C. Her work and writing can be found at her website, candleandquill.com.

In Deemyad’s upcoming debut novel, The Sky Worshipers, three princesses from China, Persia and Poland are taken captive by Genghis Khan and his sons and forced to live out their lives as members of the Mongol court. Unable to escape, the princesses chronicle the era of Mongol invasions in a hidden manuscript not found until a century after their deaths. A fact-based novel told through the eyes of the conquered and captured, The Sky Worshipers reveals the complex and epic nature of the Mongolian empire during the 13th century. As the captive princesses relate their experience, they expose stories once lost to history now brought to light.

History Through Fiction is an independent press founded by author and historian Colin Mustful. After self-publishing four historical novels about Minnesota settlement and Native history, Mustful launched History Through Fiction in 2019. Founded on the idea that fiction can have footnotes, Mustful seeks to publish novels that combine elements of fiction and nonfiction in order to tell stories that are both entertaining and educational. By publishing well-written, compelling historical novels, books by History Through Fiction bring history to life while also acting as important historical resources.

The official release date for The Sky Worshipers is yet to be determined. For more information, or to schedule an interview, please contact the editor at: editor@historythroughfiction.com.
